AQUATASTIC projects our love and passion for scuba diving, marine life, marine conservation, fish identification & knowledge and underwater photography. It is our aim to give you the most recent news and info as well as dive tips and honest reviews to you.

We have a Dive Shop to provide you with all your diving needs located at the airport at Tawau, a major transit point to marvelous diving spots like Sipadan, Mabul, Mataking, Kapalai, the Tun Sakaran Marine Park and other exotic dive sites and islands near Semporna. In addition to that, this dive shop; much like the purpose of this blog, introduces you to dive courses that we can conduct and interesting dive sites not just in our area but around South East Asia. To know more about the places and resorts we love to go, check out the useful links on the right side of this blog.

Fishes and faces I met since my last post...

I FEEL LIKE I'M AS SLOW LIKE A SEA SLUG...
So... Its been a while mates. What have I been up to since I last posted? Well it has been hectic, stressful and busy month. Moving to a new home and moving the dive shop in the same month is NOT FUN... (Although I have to say I played no helpful role in helping out with the move...) Plus I got a huge load of unfinished stuff to settle and oh what joy it was when all of it came knocking at my gate.

Putting all the crap aside, the diving was although not the greatest but at least it was real fun, nice fishes although not my best but hey I met great people during my dives. I had my macro lens with me and I kept it throughout the dives too so check out the pics I got. This time around I been taking more pictures of nudibranchs. I stayed for two weeks at Sipadan Water Village Resort and it was smashing as always. Congratulations to our new divers: Justin Leung, Jennifer Green, Casper Mejer, Fredrik Liden and Esther Gonzalez for completing their Open Water Course and Advanced Course at the resort!

FOR A LIVING PLANET...

Oh and being the irrelevant one I seem to be, I did something drastic! :P Ladies and gentlemen, I am now a volunteer (A daily paid assistant to be exact) for the WWF (not the World Wrestling Federation, mind you...) Thanks to Nina for recommending me and giving me the chance to try and play a part in this epic conservation program, now I can at least do something meaningful for our underwater world. We did reef checks at places around the area and we covered Ligitan island as well; the beautiful island was once, along with Sipadan under dispute between Malaysia and Indonesia. We covered quite a large and detailed area too under Nina's leadership with Bobby and Richard as great teammates. We didn't appreciate the fish bombing at all, I was stunned a few times by those stuff but hey we all came back in one piece, safe and sound. Below we got me doing reef check and a picture of Ligitan Island.

MY MACRO...
I been trying to convince myself that I still love macro and I was awesomely successful. With my macro lens and some concentrated eyes I managed to entertain myself quite a bit... Below I got a 2cm Ring-eyed Pygmy Goby, a 3cm Seamoth, a real tiny juvenile lobster, a skinny & puny bubble coral shrimp and two small frogfish, all taken at Mabul Island. Check it out and do comment on it please.

THINGS I LEARNED AND FIGURED OUT...

From left to right: Ying-Ying can speak Japanese way fluent than I can... Max is tough, Lew can do push ups with his fingers! I can have short hairs too. Aaron scored 92% in his Rescue Diver exam! Midori's handphone is so awesome looking with uber functions and Yuka is going for Dive Master!

Jimmy is Mabul's top hair stylist!

Abigail got such nice teeth it shines even underwater!

I learn to hate Wild Turkey...

Hey, I figured out that I'm the torn among the roses lol! And I so love Joosey's (the babe in the far right) tanned skin!

He is the Pike General! (This helmet is actually a traditional local worker's helmet, it is hard and durable and it bears striking resemblance to helmets of pike soldiers during the three kingdoms period in China!)

I am a Pike Captain!

He is the Pike Lieutenant!

I found out that Bobby and I can make good music together especially when drunk...

I found out that I am actually a really lucky dude. I am frequently surrounded by awesome babes and they always bring me good luck and fortune. I got Nadege, Naz and Ute with me in this pic. Naz especially, she brings me "ong" Hahaha!

Alright thats all the laughs for now. Post again soon, I hope. Take care, good bless and stay wet... (Ah that last one sounds wrong eh? :P)
